3 Brain Rot Vocal Stims I Say Every Day

Brain rot goes hard, and most of it becomes permanently attached to my mind. This leads me to say the same phrases and jokes every day, annoying my friends every time. My closest friends are in the trenches of brain rot with me, and that’s how I know we’re truly bonded.

TikTok is my source for all my vocal stims. After scrolling on that app for hours almost every day, it makes sense to be so wrapped up in it. Back in 2025, there was an entire TikTok trend dedicated to having a parent read brain-rotting words and phrases, without laughing. It’s a favorite of mine and puts into perspective just how stupid I find brain rot to be.

The Oxford Word of the Year in 2024 was even brain rot, showcasing just how large-scale the term really is. To me, vocal stims are brain rot that are said frequently by those who are chronically online enough to know the terms. There isn’t a day that goes by without me quoting my top vocal stims way too many times.

“Just vote.”

“Just vote. Just vote. I know I’m gonna be out, so just vote.” This comes from a YouTube video titled “7 High Schoolers Decide Who Wins $1000.” Contestants needed to vote to determine who would be out, and Jordyn, jokingly called “Fish Girl” online, said this iconic line.

This has to be my personal favorite and the one I say way more than any others. Half the time I quote it, I swap the wording to be whatever is relevant in the situation. If my friends and I are deciding what restaurant to eat at, and I give the suggestion that no one wants, “just vote” is the first thing I’ll say.

“He’s lying… y-y-you’re mom.”

Stranger Things is one of my favorite TV shows, so it would be remiss if there wasn’t a single quote I pulled from it. As he’s being possessed, Will Byers screams “He’s lying” repeatedly before answering “y-y-you’re mom” to a question.

“Your mom” jokes really get to me and make me laugh every time. This clip is taken out of context, which only makes it 10 times better. I typically quote this as two separate vocal stims because it’s just so out of left field, and they’re so different.

If one of my friends says something about me that’s true but I don’t want to admit it, “he’s lying” is the perfect thing to say. Whenever I say “y-y-you’re mom,” it’s at the most random times, forever uncalled for. This might be the one that my friends hate the most.

“Shut up, Mom.”

This is from a Key & Peele sketch about sibling rivalry. All the characters are caught off guard, with the unexpected outburst, “Shut up, Mom. Silence from you. You’re cut off… from talking.” The clip recently resurfaced on TikTok, but it was originally posted in November 2019.

One of my closest friends would always just randomly say this, and it caught on with everyone else in the friend group. Whenever someone starts quoting it, we all jump in, and it’s perfect. As stupid as brain rot might be, my friends and I bond over all of our brain-rotted vocal stims.

Now, of course, it’s important to note that my most frequent vocal stims change frequently. After some time, even I get annoyed at what I’m saying. At the end of the day, my vocal stims contribute to my personality, and I wouldn’t be as funny as I am without them.
