That’s right, Collegiettes, spring break is right around the corner! In less than a month, we will be free to travel and venture to our hearts’ desires for an entire week. However, if you’re like me, your travel dreams do not necessarily fit in to your actual travel budget, putting a damper on your spring break ideas. I know, it’s hard having big dreams of an extravagant trip around the world while being a broke college student, but don’t worry; I’ve got you covered. I’ve come up with some super cheap spring break vacation ideas that will still make for a legendary trip with your best buds.

The Classic Beach Vacay:

If your hometown is anywhere south of Tallahassee, you most likely have a beautiful beach within driving distance that you can visit. Spend all day with your girls by the ocean and stay for the sunset (and don’t forget to snap an Insta-worthy photo). You can stay for just a day, or even rent a vacation home with a bunch of people to make it a well-deserved retreat for a few days – or even the whole break. The more, the merrier (and the cheaper)!

I personally recommend going to Siesta Key Beach, located in my hometown of Sarasota, FL. The beach is absolutely gorgeous, with sand as soft as silk and bright blue waters. It even has a cute area called The Village right off the beach that has little tourist shops, delicious eateries, and fun bars. This vacation spot is both affordable and amazing (and I’m definitely hitting it up for spring break).

An Inexpensive Approach to The Happiest Place on Earth:

My choice for this spring break is a cheap twist on a usually expensive trip. About eight friends and myself put together our money, bought cheap bus tickets to Orlando and rooms at an inexpensive hotel near Disney, and created a low budget vacation to Disney World. Each of us only had to pay around thirty dollars for the hotel since so many of us chipped in, leaving only the actual park ticket itself as the most expensive purchase. However, we got a discount on the tickets for being Florida State students, which is absolutely awesome.

So, make sure to keep in mind for anywhere you go this break that there are discounts for students EVERYWHERE. It can turn any expensive trip in to an affordable vacation. For about $200 (which isn’t too bad), you can make all your dreams come true with a trip you and your best friends will never forget at Disney World.

A Road Trip for the Books:

Gather a few of your best friends in a car early in the morning, stop for some delicious coffee and breakfast (I personally recommend IHOP or Chick-fil-A for maximum contentment), blast your favorite tracks by Britney Spears and Beyoncé, and hit the road for an unbelievable vacation you will tell your grandchildren about one day.

You could travel to everyone’s hometown, making stops at their favorite local spots, or travel to a place you have never been to! There is so much room for adventure and exploration in this spontaneous vacation idea. What’s better than singing along to your favorite songs while driving around the country with your besties?

Plus, with only having to pay for gas and the occasional stop for food, this idea will most likely be the cheapest.

Good luck with all of your spring break escapades! Have the time of your lives, but remember to stay safe on any adventure you take!
