The Can’t-Miss Movies Coming to Netflix This Month!

It’s the first week of the month, and you know what that means: Netflix is updating! Get ready for another month of binge-watching marathons, spending nights in and ignoring your homework until the last possible minute as you reach for that “next episode” button. Here’s what to look out for in February.

Ella Enchanted

The crown princess of Genovia and of all of our hearts, Anne Hathaway, plays another fairytale heroine in this adorable kids’ romance film. Get ready to reminisce in all of the childhood feels and belt along to “Somebody to Love,” as the whimsical Ella Enchanted is now available!

Men in Black

*high-pitch singing* Here come the men in black! Fresh out of his Fresh Prince days, Will Smith stars with Tommy Lee Jones in their first hilarious foray into the world of secret agents and fighting off aliens. What are you waiting for? MIB is out now!

Other fun throwbacks to catch this month include Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (just in time to get ready for the reboot starring Alicia Vikander) and Evan Almighty (the sequel to Bruce Almighty, available February 16).

The Hurt Locker

This powerful war thriller won six Academy Awards including best picture and best director in 2008, making Katherine Bigelow the only female director to have ever won the award. A triumphant achievement for women in media, The Hurt Locker is currently available. It’s a must-see for all movie lovers.

Ocean’s Eleven

The action-packed heist movie Ocean’s Eleven (also Twelve and Thirteen) is here! With an all-star cast, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Andy Garcia and Matt Damon lead this hit alongside actual American treasure Julia Roberts. Watch them before the all-female spin-off Ocean’s 8 comes out this summer!

Other acclaimed classics coming this month are Goodfellas and Lincoln (the masterful Daniel Day-Lewis-led biopic will be available February 21).

The Emoji Movie

A film regarded by almost all who’ve seen it as a crime against cinema, Netflix is gracing our undeserving eyes with this 9 percent on Rotten Tomatoes children’s flop, The Emoji Movie. If you’re into laughing at terrible movies with your friends (ex.: The Room or Sharknado), put this one at the top of your list when it arrives on February 8.

Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2

Featuring the most hardcore female movie character ever played by Uma Thurman, it’s about time Netflix brought us the Kill Bill movies! The iconic martial arts revenge flicks by Quentin Tarantino are perfect for a kick-ass movie night in. Get the girls together tonight because both Kill Bill films are up now!

Irreplaceable You

The Netflix original movie starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Kate McKinnon and Christopher Walken is about a cancer patient who wants to find a girlfriend for her terrible-at-dating fiancé after she’s gone. It’s coming February 16, so add it to your list now!
