What Barbie You Are Based on Your Favorite Finals Study Spot

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

You have likely seen the promotional posts for Barbie, the highly-anticipated movie that releases this July. These posts show characters in the upcoming movie and describe the many Barbies’ accomplishments. I’ve seen many parodies of these posts and love to see the spins that fans put on the promotional photos and posts for the movie. And with finals coming up next week, I thought I’d create my own version of the fun by telling you what Barbie I think you are based on your favorite on-campus finals study spot!

Dirac Science Library

I feel that this one is quite obvious: this Barbie has a Nobel Prize in physics. This Barbie character, played by Emma Mackey, gives all things science and academic weapon. Those who favor studying at Dirac are those who I’d imagine are running on two hours of sleep, operate completely upon their reliance on energy drinks or coffee, and somehow they make it look easy. After completing your finals, you’ll likely be on the verge of a coma for a few days and barely leave your bed. But hey, at least you did it!

Strozier Library

Strozier is the classic study spot on campus for any assignment or season. For this, you are THE Margot Robbie Barbie. You are the Barbie that we all know and love— this Barbie is everything. You will conquer your finals because you can do and be anything and everything.

The Innovation Hub

You are the picture for success in your classes and beyond graduation. You are Hari Nef’s doctor Barbie. You are always stressed due to your heavy course load, but you make it look easy. You know the hard work will pay off, so you ignore the lack of sleep and growing stress levels. You aren’t necessarily worried about the grade as long as you pass. However, your friends and peers know that you are the smartest of the bunch.

The Student Union

… you’re Midge.

1851

You are the coolest Barbie. You appreciate the dynamic 1851 offers and the aesthetic it brings. You, my friend, are Dua Lipa’s mermaid Barbie. You can sit outside and soak in the sun and sounds of campus or sit inside in the naturally or dimly lit dining area. You’ll definitely be snacking or sipping on Starbucks as you study, but you’ll feel like a main character while you do it.

Dodd Hall

Speaking of main characters, Dodd Hall studiers are living out their main character fantasy by choosing this spot. This Barbie is a celebrated author. Your Barbie, played by Alexandra Shipp, spends most of their time studying pretending they are within a novel to motivate themself to get any work done. And although it sounds silly, it works wonders for you and your grades!

Any Residence Hall Study Room, TV Room, or Dorm

You are Ken.

Landis Green or Mina Jo Powell Green

You may not be the coolest Barbie, but you are my favorite. For this, you are Kate McKinnon’s “always in the splits” Barbie. You feel like you are the main character, but unlike the others, you really are. Whether you are hammocking, lounging on a picnic blanket, or sitting on a bench by the fountain, you are the picture of FSU bliss. You like to spend your time studying during the day rather than at night, thus meaning you tend to get an adequate amount of sleep and are well-rested for your finals.

William Johnston Building (WJB)

You are Issa Rae’s President Barbie. You are put together on the outside, but internally falling apart. You are an organized mess, but you always seem to manage to get a decent grade. You use the resources within WJB to your advantage and– similarly to our Dirac friends– will be happily resting following finals week.

Regardless of your Barbie assignment, we all know that we are all capable of doing well for our finals this semester! Remember to take breaks and get enough rest so that you can be successful on your exams! You’ve got this! And you’ll have the perfect summer activity following the end of the semester: watching Barbie in theatres on July 21!
