The current winter weather may have you bundled up in your favorite scarves and jackets for the chilly day time breeze, wishing for brighter and sunnier days. Don’t worry, I am definitely yearning for the beauty that spring offers too. It’s now the time to finally take down those Christmas decorations and replace them with some adorable spring décor. Adding these bright and cheery decorations to your apartment, dorm, or house that will get you pumped for the upcoming season (and forget about the fact that it’s 40 degrees outside).

1. Mason Jar + Fresh Flowers

Mason jars are the absolute cutest and give any environment a rustic yet chic vibe. With a paintbrush and pastel paints in hues of mint green and lavendar along with some fresh flowers you can easily turn a regular jar in to a lovely vase adorned with nature’s beauty.

For an even sweeter touch, simply add some crochet from a doily or buy a yard of crochet ribbon from Walmart (about $5) and super glue it on to the jar. It adds a simple and girly touch that is perfect for spring.

2. Graphic Wall Art

This wall décor will have guests thinking you are the next Andy Warhol, even if your only specialty is stick figures. Cut a page from a large, vintage book or even print out a page from your favorite book on some cream colored paper. Next put it in any simple frame (or one with a pop of color). Then, find any spring-related stamps (which can be found at a local dollar store or Walmart), such as birds, flowers, the sun, trees, or whatever else floats your boat. Simply dab the paint on your sponge and create your spring masterpiece. This project is so easy and will bring color and life to your living environment.

3. Floral Throw Pillow

There are many tutorials on the Internet for creating your own throw pillow for your fave futon or your bed with sewing and without sewing. By buying some floral or brightly patterned fabric and some soft stuffing (or just buying a plain pillow to cover), you can easily brighten up your room and bring in some spring spirit.

You can even use a dishtowel or any small piece of fabric to create an adorable and comfy throw pillow. If you want to get even craftier, you could use some of the stamps from the last DIY idea and create your own spring pattern on your throw pillow. The possibilities are endless.

4. Coffee Filter Flower Wreath

Fellow coffee addicts rejoice! Using coffee filters (or some pastel pink tissue papers), simply bunch up each piece to look like a flower and super glue the flowers to a Styrofoam ring.

If you want to get even more creative, you could build your own ring in to various shapes, like a heart, which is perfect for Valentine’s Day. This decoration is extremely easy and gives any room a delightfully fun touch.
