Ever since Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were both seen at this year’s Screen Actors Guild, aka SAG Awards, on Sunday, Jan. 19, the internet has been exploding over their interaction!
Both Aniston and Pitt were nominated for awards this season. According to People, Pitt won his award for best supporting actor for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s film Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. Meanwhile, right after Pitt received his award, Aniston won the award for best actress in a drama series for her role in The Morning Show.

Brad’s acceptance speech was a memorable one. The speech was full of jokes, praise and even references to his past marriages. The latter of which includes not only his famous marriage to Angelina Jolie, but also his five-year marriage to Aniston herself, which Marie Claire was quick to remind the public about. Additionally, the publication liked his speech so much they put the entire transcript of it on their website. Notable aspects include when Pitt referenced his award and said: “I got to add this to my Tinder profile.” He also included some self-deprecating humor about getting into character: “It was a difficult part: a guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn’t get on with his wife.” The camera quickly cut to Jennifer Aniston, who laughed and applauded.

Both actors were reported to have appeared happy for each other’s respective success despite the pair making headlines in past years about a bitter divorce and swirling rumors about their speculated friendship status. According to People, the former couple had quite the reunion at the Los Angeles awards show, embracing each other backstage after Pitt watched Aniston’s acceptance speech from a monitor, a gesture which the actress told ExtraTV was “sweet.”

Finally, the moment that set the internet ablaze was the candid photos of a warm reunion between Brad and Jen, especially one in which Brad grasps Jen’s hand as she walks away.

News outlets are clamoring about whether or not this public display of affection could be a sign of a potential romantic reunion. In the past, Aniston and Pitt had been married for five years until they called it quits shortly after Brad met Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

However, multiple news sources, including Marie Claire, have cited that a friendship between the two has sparked up following Jolie and Pitts’ divorce in 2016. For example, a few months after the divorce, Brad supposedly reached out to Aniston to wish her a happy birthday. Since then, the exes have reportedly kept in touch, and, most recently, Brad was “one of the first to arrive and last to leave” at Aniston’s intimate holiday party this past December of 2019.
We may never truly know what goes on in the lives of Hollywood’s most glamorous stars, including Jennifer and Brad’s personal lives. However, there’s likely to be no shortage of speculation and stardom to fill our newsfeeds. Everyone loves a good love story!
