They navigate their way around high school and the societal pressures they’re faced with as students. When Charlie — the shy outcast who also happens to be one of the only openly gay students at Truham Grammar School for Boys — starts talking with Nick — the star rugby player at the school — he instantly feels a deep connection between the two of them growing. However, when Charlie hears from his classmates that Nick is straight, he pulls back and accepts the fact that he’ll probably be lonely forever. That is, until Charlie and Nick share a kiss.
