To answer the question, it’s a fact, but before you call me crazy, let me explain!

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, has been spotted all over the United States. This creature has even been seen in specific areas so often that these locations are nicknamed “Bigfoot Country.” Most of these locations are in the Pacific Northwest, including Northern California, Oregon and Washington. Although, the sightings don’t start and stop there. Bigfoot has even been spotted right here in our home state of Florida. In Florida, the creature goes by another name—“Skunk Ape.”

So, if Bigfoot is real, where is the evidence? Evidence that this man-like creature exists has been discovered for years and years now. One of the most compelling and most famous pieces of evidence was a video taken in 1967 called the Patterson-Gimlin film. This was a sighting caught on film of what looks like a female Bigfoot walking through a tree clearing in Northern California by two men, Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin. While this video has faced many critiques, both men claim it is factual to this day, and it hasn’t been thoroughly debunked since it was first released.

There have been other clips taken of this unknown creature besides just the Patterson-Gimlin film. In July 2000, a video was recorded in the Marble Mountain Wilderness by a youth group leader named Jim Mills. The grainy video lasts about seven minutes as you watch the large creature walk along the ridge in the distance. Its long arms that come to its knees make it look very non-human. One of the most recent video sightings was taken in 2012 in Provo Canyon, Utah. A couple of brothers were hiking and started filming what they thought was a bear in the woods until it stood up on two feet. The ending of the video is them bolting away from the unidentified creature.

Plenty of evidence has been found besides just pictures and videos. While images seem to be the most convincing, footprints and sound clips have also been documented to support this ape-like creature’s existence. In 1980, a cast was made of a 17.5-inch long footprint outside of a residential area in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The Associated Press stated that this footprint coincides with reports of strange noises accompanied by a strong, unusual odor in the same area.

Bigfoot is believed to communicate via howling, grunting and tree knocks. These have all been detected, recorded and analyzed by many. One recording of these vocalizations was caught in the 1970s in the Sierra Nevada mountain range and named the “Sierra Sounds.” Retired US Navy cryptologic linguist, Scott Nelson analyzed these recorded sounds. He stated that it was evidence of a language, but it was not of human origin and couldn’t have been faked.

New animal species are discovered all the time by experts, and there is so much out there that has yet to be discovered. Just last year, a new primate was found in the jungles of Myanmar. This recently discovered creature is called the Popa Langur and has been hiding in the jungle for years now. This newfound primate is just one of the 15 species found in the year 2020. Others include the Jonah Mouse Lemurs in Madagascar, a Pit Viper species in the Himalayas and the Yala Giant Scorpion in Sri Lanka.

With all this compelling evidence, it seems clear to me that there is a man-like creature walking around the wilderness of the United States, choosing to hide from its human relatives. I’m not telling you what to believe, but the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence! Bigfoot could be out there hiding from us all.

Sincerely,

A believer.
