Fall is a time for cozy sweaters, crisp air, hot chocolate and bundling up in fluffy blankets to binge watch your favorite shows. With the autumn months comes all things spooky and supernatural, which keeps us on the edge of our seats as we’re captured into the eerie and magical worlds of our shows. If you’re curious as to which shows you should plan on binging this fall, here are 5 of the best Netflix shows to get you into that fall mood.

1. Stranger Things

This thrilling Netflix original drama set in 1983 Indiana, follows the story of Will Byers, who mysteriously goes missing. Following his disappearance, a terrifying investigation commences, unraveling a series of uncanny mysteries including government secrets, supernatural forces, and a very eccentric little girl. This unnerving show will have you hooked from the pilot, as you are left in awe and wonder with every twist and turn it has to offer. 

2. Charmed

In this series, a group of sisters discovers that they are witches. Luckily for their world, they’re among the good bunch. Joining together to fight evil, each utilizes their unique power in their ancestral home in the beautiful San Francisco. Appearing to be everyday women with jobs, relationships and friends, don’t let them fool you. They are extraordinarily powerful witches with enchanting powers to protect the innocents from harm. This show is a classic and will envelop you in all its magical charm. 

3. American Horror Story

This show possesses all the horrifying, intimidating and chilling content you could ever need in a show. The show is an anthology series centering on different characters, locations and plots, including but not limited to: a murder house, an insane asylum, a witch coven, a freak show, a hotel, a possessed farmhouse, a cult and most recently the apocalypse. No matter how ominous it may become, it still manages to captivate you, which results into full on binge mode. If disturbing, itching and gruesome shows are your things, then AHS is definitely for you.

4. The Vampire Diaries

This series will satisfy every need or desire you have when it comes to vampires. This supernatural drama set in the fictional town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, which focuses on the life of Elena Gilbert who falls in love with a 162-year-old vampire, Stefan Salvatore. Things get complicated once Stefan’s older brother, Damon Salvatore gets involved. Although Damon is initially villainous and holds a grudge against his brother, he eventually reconciles with Stefan and falls in love with Elena, resulting in a love triangle. That’s not all the show contains. With werewolves, witches and the birth of new vampires, Elena, the Salvatore brothers and their friends have to band together to fight off all threats against their hometown of Mystic Falls. This binge-worthy show will never leave you bored. Also, as a bonus, their spinoff series, The Originals, follows the story of Klaus, a potent character in Vampire Diaries who is the original vampire/werewolf hybrid. 

5. iZombie

This series follows the life of Liv Moore, a medical student turned zombie, who somehow manages to find new purpose in life. She starts by taking a job as a coroner, where she initially believed she could snack on the brains of the corpses, but she then discovers that she absorbs the memories of those she feeds on. Posing as a psychic, she works alongside a detective to help solve murders. This unconventional show will leave you wanting more with every episode and will definitely prep you for all things fall.
