Avengers: End Game Has Been Released (Spoiler Free!)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Avengers: Endgame has been one of the most highly anticipated movies of all time that has one of the largest casts of A-list actors. Marvel’s newest release already has everyone in a tizzy. The time length of the movie is no less proportionate for its amount of stars, running three hours and one minute long. Earlier this month, Avengers: Endgame directors, the Russo Brothers, sent out a special message on social media to its fans. The directors call for all fans to remain silent and discourage the spread of the spoilers for those who have not seen the film yet. The Russo Brothers tell their fans, “Thanos demands your silence.” Getting on the internet after seeing the movies you will see a lot of excited fans and emotions over the movie and very few spoilers.

We left the Avengers in Infinity War with a huge loss on their shoulders and having no idea how to fix it. Coming back from that deep hole with the scars left on them by the events that took place was something focused on a lot throughout the movie. A perfect blend of all the mentioned elements from the previous movies as well as balancing that many characters in relevant roles made this a cinematic feat. Each character got just the right amount of screen time and many of their backstories were tied into the plot as well. The movie has tons of action but really slows down in moments for the audience to see how far the characters have gone from where they started. Be prepared, the movie has a very different feel from Infinity War. While the pacing is different, we do get to see a lot of the original Avengers team working together as previewed in the trailer.

The cast teamed up for one last premiere together on the red carpet on Apr. 18 held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The original Avengers including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo were also honored in Hollywood with a handprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre. The movie has already received a 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. And if that’s not enough, the film raked in around $60 million in revenue for their Thursday preview, the highest grossing preview ever.

The film was made for the fans by the fans. After over 11 years of Marvel film releases, it all leads up to this film that one critic has commented saying, “No matter how much homework you’ve done, what actually happens, the order in which it happens and the folks to whom it happens will still pack surprises – also tongue-in-cheekiness and quite a bit of lump-in-throatiness.” Warning: this movie is very emotional, especially for those who always cry during movies. The movie really draws from the roots of those first Avengers movies that tie everything together to create a nostalgic ending for both the super fan and the casual fan.

As Tony Stark says in the trailer, “Part of the journey is the end,” and this might be the end of the Avengers films, but do not forget that we still have Spiderman: Far from Home, a sequel to Black Panther, a sequel to Doctor Strange, a sequel to Captain Marvel, and a third Guardians of the Galaxy movie in motion as well. It is far from the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
