If you’re a sucker for Vince Vaughn comedy, you’ll need to check this one out. David Wozniak is a middle-aged man still searching for his purpose in life, and he just may have found it when he discovers that he is the father of 533 children. After a donation at a fertility clinic went wrong twenty years ago, David finds himself in a lawsuit when 142 of his children demand to know the identity of their father.
3. Disney’s Frozen – November 27, 2013
Once in a while, it’s nice to see a cute Disney movie, especially during the holiday season. In this computer-animated adventure, Elsa, the evil queen of Ardenelle, has used her icy powers to trap the kingdom in eternal winter. It’s up to Anna, Elsa’s sister, and her fellow companions, Kristoff and Olaf, to save their people in an epic journey that includes some life-threatening, snow-like obstacles along the way.
4. Oldboy (2013) – November 27th
If you love thrillers and some good graphic violence, Oldboy sounds like it will do the trick. Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, and Samuel L. Jackson star in this Spike Lee remake about a man named Joseph Doucett who was kidnapped and held in solitary confinement for twenty years without any reason. After finally being set free, Doucett goes on an obsessive journey to find out who his kidnapper was and seek vengeance upon him.
5. American Hustle – December 13, 2013
Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, and Robert De Niro all in one movie? ‘Nuff said. American Hustle takes you into the world of New Jersey’s finest “powerbrokers” and mafia, where a con man and his alluring female partner are stuck working for an unruly FBI agent.
6. Saving Mr. Banks – December 13, 2013
When I first saw the trailer for this movie in theaters, I was super psyched about it! In this drama, Tom Hanks stars as Mr. Walt Disney himself, and Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers, author of the beloved book, Mary Poppins. The film portrays Travers looking back on her rough childhood as she is in the process of adapting her book to film at Walt Disney Studios.
7. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug – December 13, 2013
Essentially, if you saw The Hobbit and loved it, there’s no real reason as to why you should miss the sequel to this pre-Lord Of the Rings franchise. Bilbo Baggins, possessor of the mysterious ring, must continue his quest to reclaim his home of Erebor, along with the dwarves and Gandalf the Grey. The only thing standing in their way is Smaug, one of the last remaining dragons of Middle-Earth.
8. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues – December 20th
Lovable comedian Will Ferrell is back to continue the legend of Ron Burgundy, San Diego’s top rated newsman. In this long-awaited sequel, Burgundy plans to take over New York’s first 24/7 news channel…it’s gonna be kind of a big deal.
