8 of the Best (And Worst) Moments From This Week’s Episode of ‘The Bachelor’

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

If you’ve been watching this season of The Bachelor, you know there’s no such thing as a dull moment. For those of you that missed last night’s episode, I’ve got you covered with 8 of the best (and worst) moments from the episode.

1. Chelsea’s one-on-one makes a splash

All cringe-worthy puns aside, Chelsea and Arie got to share a romantic day together on a gorgeous yacht that looked like it was straight out of The Wolf of Wall Street. After passionately making out on a jet ski, unknowingly being watched from afar by Maquel, Lauren and Ashley, Arie and Chelsea headed to an antique car museum for dinner. There Chelsea opened up about being a single mother and her rocky relationship with her son’s father. Though Chelsea isn’t my favorite contender, my heart, and probably Arie’s, couldn’t help but break a little after hearing her story. Arie was definitely touched by her openness and rewarded her with a rose. Awwww!

2. Arie’s bowling montage

This was probably an attempt to add a funny kind of drama to the group date, but it was honestly just painful to watch. There are only so many “cool” poses one can do in a run-down bowling alley in Fort Lauderdale. And unfortunately, Arie didn’t look cool in any of them. But hey, at least those old ladies found it attractive!

3. Hurricane Krystal

Ahh yes. Our favorite fitness coach has done it again. To save us all the trouble of living through Krystal’s drama again, I’ll give a basic summary of what led to her breakdown. During this week’s group date at the bowling alley, Arie set up a competition between the girls. The losers of the two teams were not going to be allowed to go to the cocktail party that usually follows group dates and would instead stay at the hotel while the winning team got extended time with Arie. Seeing that this wasn’t fair, Arie changed his mind and allowed both teams to join him. Krystal, who happened to be on the winning team, was livid. In an off-camera tirade described by the other girls, Krystal called Arie a liar and said she felt “disrespected.” Thus, she decided not to go to the cocktail party. When Arie came to her room to talk about what happened, he was not happy with her outburst saying that she “put [his] character into question.” Yikes.

4. Lauren B. makes her claim

Up until now, Lauren B. has kind of been one of those girls we know nothing about yet constantly complains about not getting time with Arie. But this week, she got a little more air time and we got to see that she really does have a connection with him. I don’t want to be the only one to say it, but they are actually really cute together. Her version of 21 questions was a bit more successful than Kendal’s at easing the tension of the night and earned her the group date rose!

5. Tia and Arie eat frog legs

How does the saying go? “When in the Everglades…” Yeah, more like “Yuck!”

6. Tia tells Arie she’s falling in love!!!

Tia is my girl! Southern and strong, independent, hilarious, emotional and feminine, but she could still probably kick your butt. Arie said it himself when he described her as comfortable with just being who she is. That’s why I know all of Bachelor Nation let out a collective squeal when she told Arie she was falling for him. Maybe this is just my girl crush speaking, but if Arie doesn’t pick her he is a fool. She also gave the most relatable one-liner when she told Arie mid-makeout that she had been “waiting on [him] to push [her] up against something.”

7. Kendall earns our love…

Kendall has certainly been a weird one on this season but the way she handled Krystal’s outbreak showed how truly mature she is. When Krystal asked the girls to confront her directly, Kendall immediately took the opportunity to express why the girls were upset by the situation. Her ability to understand where Krystal was coming from while also explaining to her in a non-derogatory way that her actions where hurtful gave her some major wifey points! If this is how she handles psycho contestants, imagine how smooth her conflicts would flow in a marriage. Too bad Arie didn’t get to see that side of her.

8. …then loses it again

What Arie did get to see was Kendall asking him about visiting indigenous tribes and eating human flesh. . . yum. I’m all for being open-minded and trying new things but really? At least Arie covered up his disgust with laughter.

And that’s pretty much what you missed if you didn’t tune in on Monday night. Join me next week right here for even more of The Bachelor!
