5 ~Spooky~ Cocktails You Need to Make ASAP

October has flown by, midterms are over with, and Halloween is finally here. That being said, you probably have your costume picked out and you definitely have that cute pumpkin patch Instagram photo taken care of. So, this weekend, after binging Season 2 of Stranger Things and before eating your weight in greasy food to cure your hangover on Sunday, you’ll definitely want to try these ~spooky~ cocktails.

1. Beetlejuice Cocktail

This movie-inspired cocktail will have you saying, “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!” Who knows, maybe he’ll show up…

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce of vodka
  • ½ ounce of melon liqueur
  • ½ ounce of raspberry liqueur
  • ½ ounce of blue curaçao
  • 2 ounces of sweet & sour
  • 1 ½ ounces of cranberry juice

Instructions:

  1. Fill glass with ice
  2. Add the vodka, melon liqueur, raspberry liqueur, blue curaçao, and sweet & sour
  3. Add cranberry juice

2. Pumpkin Spice Halloween Punch

Because what’s Halloween without pumpkin spice?

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples
  • 2 pears
  • 1 orange
  • ¼ of cup honey
  • ¼ of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of bourbon
  • 3 cups of apple cider
  • ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 bottles of Pinot Grigio
  • 1 pumpkin

Instructions:

  1. Thinly slice apples, pears, and oranges and then place them in a large bowl
  2. Coat with lemon juice
  3. Add honey, brown sugar, bourbon, apple cider, and pumpkin pie spice, stirring gently
  4. Cover and refrigerate 2-4 hours, or overnight
  5. Top with chilled Pinot Grigio before serving

3. Bloody Brain Shooter

This drink is a “no-brainer.”

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ ounces of strawberry vodka
  • 1/8 ounce of Rose’s Lime Juice
  • ¾ ounce of Bailey’s Irish cream
  • Splash of Grenadine

Instructions:

  1. Add vodka and lime juice to a shaker and then strain into a shot glass
  2. Using a straw, dip Bailey’s Irish Cream into the shot
  3. Once the straw is in the Baileys, hold your finger on top of the straw to keep the Bailey’s in the straw (you know, like this)
  4. Dip the straw into the vodka, slowly releasing your finger
  5. Repeat until desired brain shape

4. Candy Corn Jello Shots

Whether you’re an avid candy-corn eater, or you’re one of those people who just doesn’t understand the fad…you’ll definitely want to try these.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of lemon jello
  • 1 box of orange jello
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  • Cool Whip
  • Vodka

Instructions:

  1. Add 1 cup boiling water to 1 box lemon jello and stir to dissolve
  2. Add ½ cup vodka and ¼ cup cold water, stir to combine
  3. Add to shot glasses halfway
  4. Chill in fridge for 20 minutes
  5. Add 1 cup boiling water to 1 box orange jello and stir to dissolve
  6. Add ½ cup vodka and ¼ cup cold water, stir to combine
  7. Add to shot glasses rest of way
  8. Chill in fridge for 20 minutes

5. Hocus Pocus Cocktail

Sisters, behold! A classic Halloween-movie turned into a delicious cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup of Paradise Blend Juice
  • 1/3 cup of coconut rum
  • Club soda
  • Black sanding sugar
  • Honey
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Apply thin coat of honey to rim of glass
  2. Roll glass on plate of black sanding sugar
  3. Mix juice and coconut rum together
  4. Divide and prepare into two prepared glasses (with the sugar on them)
  5. Add ice
  6. Top the drink with 2-4 ounces club soda
