4 Things to Do in Tallahassee for Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

It seems like you can’t have fun if you don’t leave town for Spring Break, but there’s actually tons of hidden benefits to staying behind in good old Tallahassee!

1. Enjoy the empty venues

Tallahassee becomes a ghost town once holiday breaks come around, take advantage of it! I’m talking shorter lines at Chick-Fil-A, Chipotle and Club Pub. See how much more relaxing it is when you don’t have to wait over an hour in line while listening to the two bros in front of you rave about their sweet new muscle tanks just to get a burrito bowl.

2. Take a mini vacation

You really don’t need to leave town to have an awesome vacation. Grab a couple friends, some Pub subs and towels and head over to Landis to lay out for a bit! No need to drive to a beach, just take a dip in the fountain to cool off. Or you could head to Lake Ella to feed the ducks and grab a big cup of shaved ice at Big Easy Snowballs to treat yourself in the heat.

3. Get ready for the rest of the semester

While it may not seem like a ton of fun to spend any part of your time off focusing on going back, it gives you a great advantage over your friends that left town. When your pals come back from their seven day Caribbean cruise all tanned and bloated from the buffet, you’ll be way more prepared for your first few weeks of work without any surprise emails or assignments!

4. Give yourself a spa day

Spring break doesn’t have to always be bigger and better than last year. Sometimes it’s really helpful to reset and take a day to treat yourself for all the hard work you’ve put into this semester so far and use this spring break as an actual break. You could make chocolate chip Nutella cookies while those gorgeous Scott twins tell you how to renovate your bedroom on HGTV, or you could give your hair a luxurious coconut oil deep condition and scrub your feet with a loofah. Or both. Both is better. What’s important is that you really take this time for yourself, and maybe you’ll relax so much you’ll forget to go back to class. (Hopefully not, though.)
