21 Times Aubrey Plaza Described the Life of a Collegiette

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Aubrey Plaza is the young woman who tends to speak what we’re all thinking sometimes, but what we’re too afraid to actually say out loud. From her role as the snarky April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation to the curious high school graduate in The To Do List, Miss Plaza is known for her brutally honest expressions. She’s even the voice of Grumpy Cat! Needless to say, there are plenty of Aubrey Plaza moments that Collegiettes can relate to. Here are 21 of them:

When you realize that your summer break will be spent at an internship, job, school (or all 3!):

Seriously, what happened to the days when the only major effort you put in during the summer was to decide when to rotate between lying in bed and laying by the pool?

When you get sick of people asking you what you’re going to do after you graduate:

Actually, that sounds like a viable option…

What you’re actually thinking when you tell your boss that you love working with others and have great people skills:

Who actually enjoys group projects?

The advice you want to give yourself any time you have to speak in front of a large crowd and have no idea what to say (Intro to Speech memories…):

This could work.

What your career goals actually are:

Let’s be real.

When you start catching the feels for that guy you’ve been talking to lately:

Seriously, it’s so weird.

How you feel in your 8 AM:

Regardless of whether or not it’s actually true in your real life, it’s WHO YOU ARE at 8 AM.

When your teacher catches you dozing off and decides that’s the perfect time to ask you a question:

It’s best to just be honest.

When you catch a creeper smiling at you while you’re walking to class:

Just walk away and everything will be okay…

When some gaggle of girls is talking and laughing loudly in the library where you’re just trying to get sh*t done:

We’ve all been there.

When you’re trying to comfort a friend but you’re really bad at giving advice:

A for effort, girl.

When you realize the boy you’ve been dating is actually a jerk:

You aren’t stupid, darling, he is.

What you wish you could do when you have to go to school or work hungover:

In all seriousness, the taping-pillows-to-your-head thing is kind of genius.

When someone asks you what you like to do for fun:

Wait, what do I like to do for fun…?

When you realize that you have to get your life together:

If you’re about to graduate, you definitely know the feels.

When an acquaintance shows up at your party, but you can’t remember their name:

Tom? Jesse? Roy?

When you try to fit in with the trend of abbreviating and combining words:

WTF, is it not profesh to abbrev like this?

When you look at the clock after what feels like 30 minutes, but it’s only been 5 minutes:

Seriously?

When you decide to have a party but your apartment is a mess:

It’s just not working out.

When you feel like you’re going to be stuck at your desk job forever:

Is this it? Is this the end? Is this life?

And finally, that time Aubrey told us all what we need to hear every once in a while:

Amen, sister.

And this:

PREACH.

Sarah Christine Davis is a junior at FSU who frequently has to use her middle name so as not to be confused with the millions of other girls who have the most basic first and last name combination ever. She is double majoring in Editing, Writing, & Media and Media & Communications Studies and, believe it or not, one day wants to work in the media. In her spare time, she comes up with ways to have a friendship as perfect as Amy Poehler and Tina Fey's, daydreams about creating a cat park in her home town (dog parks are so discriminatory), and updates her LinkedIn and Online CV profiles.
