Your Guide to Cute, Holiday-Themed Date Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Framingham chapter.

It’s that magical time of year again! As we get into the mood of the holiday season this year, it is important to take some time to spend with loved ones and enjoy the festivities. So grab your significant other, or gather a group of friends, and check out some of these fun holiday date ideas!

1. Horse-drawn Carriage Ride

What’s more romantic than a moonlit carriage ride through Boston?  During the holiday season, horse and carriage tours are available in Boston. The main carriage stand is located at Chatham Street, near Faneuil Hall Marketplace, with rides varying in duration and price. This date idea can be a little on the pricier side, but the experience is well worth the money.

Do you and your significant other both have long lists of gift shopping to get through? Make a date out of it and do your holiday shopping together! Take a trip to your local shopping plaza, mall, or hit up some places around Boston, like Newbury Street or the Prudential Center. Not only will it be more fun to have someone to shop with, you can also get a second opinion on some gift ideas. Once you get everything you need, you can have a little gift wrapping party with snacks and music!

6. Build a Snowman/Have a Snowball Fight

Snow is coming; we might as well make the most of it! Instead of getting discouraged the next time a snow storm hits, get bundled up in your warmest clothes and spend some time outside. You can build a new snowman friend, make snow angels, or go crazy and have a snowball fight! After the festivities are over, get comfy and warm up inside by a fire.

7. Bake Christmas Cookies

Another fun way to get creative, head to the kitchen and make some festive cookies! You can use a boxed mix, or make them from scratch, but either way is sure to be a good time. Go grocery shopping together to get all the necessary ingredients, throw on some of your favorite Christmas tunes, and get baking! Have fun with icing, sprinkles, and whatever else your heart desires. The best part: eating cookies!
