It’s finally time to pack up our dorms and say goodbye to midterms, 8:30am classes, gross dining hall food. Even if it’s just for a week, it’s nice. That’s right, it’s Spring Break! This could mean you’re traveling with friends for a getaway or relaxing at home. But don’t worry, whether you’re looking at other people’s vacations on social media at home or traveling this Spring Break you can make the most out of your week off no matter what.
Put Away Technology
Don’t constantly worry about taking the perfect Instagram picture of your trip. There are plenty of opportunities on the trip to take pictures and you don’t know the next time you’ll be in LA, London, or New York! Make sure you’re taking in your surroundings and enjoy the change of scenery. If you’re at home, turn off your phone and read a nice book or set up a lounge chair in your yard and soak up the sun (if weather allows)!
SLEEP
You have a week to spend it however you like. But one thing you have to do it catch up on sleep. It’s finally time to make up for late night studying, early classes, and noisy neighbors. Enjoy your cozy bed at home with your favorite blanket or chill out in that soft hotel bed as long as you want this week.
Work
This is mostly for those who are spending Spring Break at home. If you’re not traveling for the week, why not get some work done? This can mean anything! You can work a little on that project that’s due later in the semester. Start a DIY project to show off! Work at your job at home and make some money! Or even find a place to volunteer in your community!
Try Something New
Cook a new meal you’ve been considering trying out at home! Go on an adventure to somewhere you wouldn’t usually go (whether it is a museum, a club, or a physical activity). Take this free time to maybe get out of your comfort zone, even just a little bit.
Treat Yourself!
The most well-known scene from Parks and Rec rings true! No matter where you are, do something just for you! It can be seeing a movie at your local cinema, eating breakfast at a new café, or shopping in the city you’re visiting!
No matter where you are or what you’re doing, enjoy your time off this Spring Break!
