Homemade Valentine’s Day Gifts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Framingham chapter.

Are you struggling to find a cute, creative, and cheap gift this Valentine’s Day? Don’t worry! Here are 5 homemade Valentine’s Day gifts to make for your loved one.

1. 52 Things I Love About You –

Grab a deck of cards and bind them together, almost as if you were making a book. On each card, write a reason why you love them. It’ll leave them feeling appreciated and loved.

2. “Open When” Letters –

If you’re up for writing a bunch of letters, grab some paper, envelopes, markers, and sit down! “Open when” letters are letters you write to your significant other for them to open at a later time. For example, one might say “open when you’re feeling sad” or “open when you miss me”. It all comes from the heart and it leaves your significant other with letters for hard times!

3. Love Coupons –

As cheesy as it may sound, love coupons can be anything you want them to be. You can be creative and make them according to your relationship with your significant other! When something comes from the heart, it makes it that much more enjoyable.

4. Date Night Jar –

Do you and your significant other have trouble deciding on where to go for date night? Make a date night jar! All you need is a mason jar and pieces of colored paper (or colored popsicle sticks). Each color represents a different type of date. For example, red could mean going to a restaurant, orange being a movie date, and so on. Make numerous categories and label each piece of paper with a specific date idea for that night. So next time you and your significant other are struggling to pick a place for date night, it’ll already be done for you!

5. Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt –

If you’re feeling a bit adventurous and creative, try making a scavenger hunt for your significant other! Leave clues around the house that lead to special surprises, maybe one leading to dinner, another leading to a box of chocolates you bought. Whatever it may be, be creative and leave little surprises and gifts around the house for them to find.
