The Flawed Movies We Love

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Framingham chapter.

Everyone loves a good movie, obviously. However, if you really analyze or think about certain aspects of a film or even the premise of a movie, you start to realize that no matter how much you love a movie it can still be bizarre. Here are our top seven movies that we love but are problematic or strange in one way or another.

She’s All That

This is a classic Rom-Com but it’s kind of messed up.  I mean, who’s ok with being asked out on a dare? It also gives the impression that glasses = ugly nerd. So, yeah, it takes a lot of weird stances.

The Prince and Me

This movie is so cute but they literally get married after a semester of knowing each other.

The Hot Chick

It’s funny but there’s a lot to think about

Coraline

Such a good movie! However, it’s a little messed up how a little girl is going through all of this and might have her eyes replaced with buttons.

Napoleon Dynamite

Napoleon Dynamite is one of the funniest movies but it’s so weird because, honestly, this movie just flat out does not make much sense.

The Bee Movie

We don’t actually like this movie but it goes without saying that it’s weird.

(500) Days of Summer

He makes it out to seem like Summer has to be with him, it’s problematic. But yet here we are loving this movie.
