Have you considered a career in fashion? Have a passion for design? Or want to get to know an incredible woman whose work shows? Get to know the head of the fashion department! 

1. What inspired you to work in fashion?

The love to sew and make clothes for her dolls, she also received her first sewing machine at 3 !

2. What college did you attend?

Undergrad: Massart for fashion design

Masters: University of Rhode Island for History In Costume.

3. How would you describe your job in 3 words?

Inspiring, rewarding, and challenging.

4. What inspires you to wake up out of bed everyday?

Family, work, and enjoying life.

5. Who’s is your fashion inspiration?

Sonia Delaunay (Russian Artist), she fused art and fashion together.

6. What advice would you give you to all fashion majors?

Pursue what you love, work hard, and challenge yourself.

7. If you weren’t in the fashion industry what field do you think you would be working in?

I would work in the theater industry.

Marissa is a senior psychology major and photography minor at Framingham State University. She is an Academic Success Peer Tutor, SDA in the dorms. She is the Campus Correspondent for Her Campus at Framingham and a Chapter Advisor. When she is not daydreaming, Marissa enjoys binge-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Hulu and sleeping.
