Few students at FSU are more committed to keeping the campus environmentally friendly that the Green Team’s president, Paolo Bon Tempo.
Name: Paolo Bon Tempo
Major: Geography major with a concentration in environmental studies
YOG: Graduating fall 2016
As the president of the newly reinstated green team, what are your goals for the club this year?
“Our goal is to expand. We want more people to join our club because it’s a simple and easy first step to bettering our world and environment. By getting involved at a small local level we can begin to make changes so we want to help people start to make positive change on our campus.”
In your own personal life, what are your favorite methods for staying green?
“Composting leftover foods and trying to conserve gas while driving and conserving water and electricity at home.”
Your concentration within the geography major is environmental studies. What are your goals as a future professional environmentalist?
“As a future environmentalist I want to protect what I can and better my area and community. I also want to try to help other people protect the environment around through policy action and education.”
What do you think are the strengths of FSU’s geography department?
“I’ve always liked the teachers cause they got me engaged in the material, some more than others. And they all care about their students and want them to do well.”
You’re also a musician. How long have you been playing music? What got you into music?
“I’m barely a musician. (laughs) I learned to play guitar when I was a lot younger but I don’t play much. My parents were always playing music so I’d say that’s how I got into it. Finding my dad’s record collection sealed it for me.”
