5 Things I Love Most About Going to Concerts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Framingham chapter.

You’re either a concert person, or you’re not, there’s not usually an in between. I’ll never understand people who aren’t concert people though. I’ve been going to concerts pretty consistently since I was 14 and they’re one of the only things I will spend a lot of money on. Here are the 5 things I love most about going to concerts.

Seeing your favorite artist in person

Whether your seats are close or far away, just knowing that you’re in the same room as your favorite people/person is enough to make you excited. It’s a surreal experience that never gets old.

Being surrounded by people who understand you

Too many times I’ve had people ask me why I’m “so obsessed” with a particular artist and why I “waste my money” on them and it makes me so mad. But being at a concert, surrounded by people who you know won’t make fun of you because they feel the exact same way, is one of the best feelings. It’s like being in a room full of friends.

The music

Obviously one of the best things about concerts is being able to hear your favorite songs performed live. Hearing the music you love live and singing along to it with everyone else at the top of your lungs just makes you love it even more.

Forgetting about your problems

One of the reasons I love concerts so much is that they take you away from the real world, even if just for an hour or two. During a concert you can forget about any stress or worries that you have because in that moment they don’t matter.

Not caring about what people think about you

A concert is literally the only place where I will dance in front of people, because I know nobody is watching me. Dancing crazily, and singing/screaming off-key are some of the best parts of being at a concert. That isn’t to say everyone has to, I know people who have just as much fun without acting crazy, but if you do, it’s nice to know you’re in a judgment free zone.
