trip to nashville: review

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fordham chapter.

Senior year comes with many parties, events, and trips. Most recently, my friends and I took a weekend trip to Nashville, Tennessee. In a city saturated with so much to do and so many places to go, it’s hard to come up with an all-inclusive itinerary. However, my friends and I did a pretty good job (if I do say so myself). Below are my highlights and recommendations for if you ever find yourself in the birthplace of country music.

best food: the mockingbird

As our first stop in Nashville (straight off the plane!), the Mockingbird did not disappoint. We were admittedly a bit hangry, but the brunch food options and cocktails were impressive. The Mockingbird burger was excellent, with the cinnamon rolls and pastries also deserving praise. The cocktail menu included everything from specialty cocktails to espresso martinis to mimosas. We definitely left The Mockingbird happier (and fuller) than we walked in.

best event: Honkytonk Party Bus

The HonkyTonk Party Bus is a wild ride, to say the least. This party bus drives you around all of Nashville while playing whatever music your group chooses. The trip also includes a bartender who will serve your drinks, take your pictures, and keep the vibes going strong. The inside of the pickup location has the cutest souvenir shop with cowboy hats of all shapes and sizes. And the best part is, they include a bathroom break in the middle (for if you really need to break the seal).

best daytime Spot: kidrocks

KidRocks is a bar on the famous Broadway, open day and night. During the day, the live music and fun crowds bring the party. It’s a nice spot to enjoy all Nashville has to offer, and you can even get a table and order food if you get hungry!

best nightlife: Jason Aldean’s

Jason Aldean’s is one of the most famous bars on Broadway, and for good reason. With multiple levels, there really is something for everyone – a calmer first level, live music on the second level, and clublike vibes along with an outdoor rooftop at the top. The music is great, and the top level has strobe lights and a stage that almost makes you question what city you’re really in (we did almost go to Vegas instead!). However, if Jason Aldean’s isn’t your cup of tea (or whiskey), Broadway is littered with bars that are popping long after sundown.
