Happy Black History Month! With the continuation of lockdown causing us all to spend a little too much time (and money) online shopping, it’s important to support black businesses. Here are a few black owned small businesses to support not only this month, but all year around.

Golde is a beauty and wellness brand created by Trinity Wofford in 2017 that focuses on “making self-care more inclusive, engaging, and fun”. All of Golde’s products are vegan and cruelty free and they’re super transparent about their products so you know you’re putting the best products into your body. I’m personally a super big fan of their matcha powders and I’m super excited to try their new line of “Super-Ades”.

Fyre Vintage is an eco-fashion vintage shop that aims to fight against fast fashion. Creator, Dayna, created this shop as a way to represent her own personal style: a mix of street and chic. When you support Fyre Vintage, 10% of the profit from your purchase is donated to helping women in need in Detroit, MI. LovelyEarthlings is an Etsy shop based in Louisville, Kentucky owned by Karina Daniel Parris. She sells a range of art products like prints, greeting cards, and tote bags. She promotes women and inclusivity through her work by highlighting women of all different hairstyles, body shapes, and skin colors. Since the creation of her shop in 2011, she’s sold over 4,000 pieces of art!

Adorness is another Etsy shop based in Paris! The owner, Vanessa, incorporates her Afro-Caribbean origins to create geometric styled jewelry. All her jewelry is handmade, and she uses upcycled leather as well as recycled African fabric prints and brass. Her jewelry is bright, beautiful and makes you feel like you’re “sitting on a Haitian beach sipping cremas”.
