My ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ review

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fordham chapter.

the nepo babies sure know how to rock

Based on a quick glance through social media, you’ll find Daisy Jones & The Six is all the rave across the globe. The short TV series managed to grasp the hearts of fans, as well as the spirit and energy of the beloved novel, despite trailing away from some significant plot points. The show’s creators have assembled a talented cast and crew, with performances praised for their authenticity and depth.

The limited series adaptation of “Daisy Jones and the Six” takes viewers back to the 1970s with its vibrant and immersive visuals, music, and fashion. The show’s soundtrack is also a highlight, featuring original songs and covers that have received critical acclaim.

If you’re searching for a ripping and emotional journey that explores the complexities of art, relationships, and the music industry, then I have good news for you. The characters are richly developed, perfectly cast, and the show’s non-linear narrative structure adds a layer of intrigue and depth to the storytelling.

I’m going to keep it real… I had meager expectations for this series, but to my surprise, I fell deeply in love with everything about it. Anytime some notable nepotism babies lead a series or movie, I find myself shutting the TV down rather quickly. I’m happy to say that wasn’t the case for Ms. Daisy Jones. Riley Keough was the picture-perfect lead for this adaptation and proved to the world that not only is she the granddaughter of Rock and Roll royalty, but she can also become a rock legend herself (or at least act like one). Co-star Sam Claflin truly encapsulated everything I imagined the character of Billy Dunne to be. His edgy, charming persona, mixed with the electric chemistry between him and Keough’s characters, makes the perfect recipe for a flawless series. Sprinkle in the addition of actresses Camila Morrone (Camila Alvarez) and Suki Waterhouse (Karen Sirko), then voila! Now you have a sure-fire hit.

Overall, the “Daisy Jones and the Six” limited series on Amazon is a must-watch for anyone looking for an engaging and visually stunning drama. It’s a love letter to the rock and roll era that will leave viewers captivated and moved.

I know Lisa Marie and Elvis Presley are looking down with smiles on their faces.
