It’s turkey season once again! What’s better than the chilly weather, warm coffees, cozy blankets, fall leaves, and listening to The Lumineers on your way to class?

The closer it gets to Thanksgiving Day, the more homesick you feel. I too want to go back home and eat a home-cooked meal with my family, but we have to wait a little longer. So what’s the next best thing? Friendsgiving!

Here is how to throw the best Friendsgiving…

1.INSPIRATION TIME

I don’t know if this is just me, but every time I pick an outfit, start studying, or do anything, I must scroll through Pinterest first. There’s something about having a visual image that just gets my creativity flowing. So when planning your Friendsgiving, go on Pinterest, look at some of the pretty decorations and delicious foods, and indulge in the vibes of these aesthetically pleasing images.

2. START THE GROUP CHAT

Whether through Snapchat or iMessage, text your friends and let them know you’re getting the party started. Tell them what foods & drinks to bring, what to wear, and all those little details ;)

3. PLAN  IT UP

As a host, it is ESSENTIAL that you make a plan for how the event will run! Make sure you have room for your guests to lounge in your kitchen and living room space. Make it look cute, and decorate it with fall decorations like flower arrangements and candles. Create THAT ambiance.

4. HAVE A FEW ACTIVITIES  IDEAS

It’s Thanksgiving! At least go around in a circle saying what you’re thankful for, or (if you’re 21+) play some drinking game or pull out the Cards Against Humanity.

5. GET TO-GO C0NTAINERS AND HAVE A BLAST!

After all the fun & games, you’ll realize you have food for days (enjoy it!). Pack it up, store it in your fridge, and enjoy the night.

Thanksgiving is all about being with people you love and reflecting on the good things around you, so despite all the decorations and food, enjoy on your friends.
