It is finally December, the last month of the year, and we all know what that means. No – not finals…that is for another article. December means the holidays, of course, and if anyone deserves a gift this holiday season, it is your parents.

But if you are like any other college student, this semester has been a busy one, and you might not have had the time to shop around for holiday gifts. Do not panic! Just follow this handy Her Campus guide for the best (and affordable) gifts your mom and dad will love.

1. An Alex and Ani bracelet for mom is sure to make her happy this holiday season. The bangle bracelet in silver and gold features a charm with the word “mom” and a peony flower on it. According to Alex and Ani, “The peony, the queen of the garden, symbolically encompasses the maternal traits of healing, love’s blessing, and bravery. “ On the back are three words that describe any mom – generosity, heroism, love. For only $28, your mom is sure to love and appreciate this gift. Check it out here.

2. If your dad is a handy guy, consider buying him a toolkit, but not just any old toolkit: a car toolkit. Amazon sells a 34-piece pack of handy-dandy tools that your dad could use to repair anything, and the best part is is that it is shaped like a car. The kit comes with a flashlight, screwdrivers, and anything else your dad could need, all for the great price of $20.99. Check it out here.

3. Your mom will most definitely love a blanket scarf. These scarves are seriously the coziest, warmest things for a cold winter day. They are the most acceptable form of walking around outside of your house with a blanket on, and so many of them are really stylish. Check out this one from Urban Outfitters here.

4. Maybe your dad likes to spend his free time playing a game of chess. Barnes and Noble sells a few different types of chessboards, but one that your dad might love is this modern and sophisticated one. The board is durable and lined with felt, and the pieces look very sleek. This gift is sure to make a great addition to your game collection at home. Check it out here.

5. Maybe your mom has been working hard all year and really deserves a day of relaxation and spa sensation. Buy her a set of face masks to relax from the comfort of her own home while giving her skin a treat. Sephora sells a set of face masks with eight masks inside that all work differently to treat skin is specific ways. Check it out here. Sephora also offers another set of skin treatment complete with a face mask, a foot mask, and more to really replicate a day at the spa. Check it out here

6. If your dad loves to catch up on his games on Sundays with a nice, cold beer in his hands, he might love a chance to make his own beers. Amazon offers a beer-making-kit with everything he could possibly need to try his hand at his own game-time beverage. Check it out here. Modell’s also has a variety of sports team gear, so you could also buy your dad a shirt to show support of his favorite team. Check out this New York Giant t-shirt here.

7. Something both of your parents can enjoy are heartfelt and thoughtful letters from you. Knock Knock has created a set of letters with specific events that you can write about. You can write a letter to your mom or dad for when they are missing you, when it is your birthday, when they need to know how much you love them, and more. Knock Knock outlines most of the letter, and you can fill in specific details of your life with your parents. It’s the perfect gift that is caring and sweet. You can purchase mom’s here and dad’s here.

No matter what you decide to get your parents, you know them best, and any gift you think they might like will likely be appreciated by them. So get through these last few weeks of the semester so you can enjoy the holiday season with your family.
