Here’s Everything We Know About The Gilmore Girls Revival

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fordham chapter.

Following a slew of revivals from your favorite 90s and 00s shows (Twin Peaks, The X-Files, Arrested Development, and 24, and Heroes, among several others), it was recently announced that our favorite fast-talking mother/daughter duo will be returning to our screens in 2016! Here’s everything we know about the revival so far:

1. It will be exclusively on Netflix.

Either be prepared to shell out that steep $10 a month, or get the password for one of your friends’ accounts!

2. All of the main characters are expected to return…

Although everyone’s contracts are still under negotiation, you can be pretty sure that stars Lauren Graham (Loreali), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Kelly Bishop (Emily), and Scott Patterson (Luke) will be back.

3. …Except Sookie. (But nothing is for certain yet!)

With Melissa McCarthy’s career having skyrocketed since the original show, we can only pray that she is able to find some time to shoot a couple scenes.

4. It will be four 90 minute “mini-movies.”

So it’s really like 6 one hour episodes? Kind of?

5. And each one will be written by the OG dream team: creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Dan Palladino!

Sherman-Palladino left the show after season 6, and we all know what happened to season 7.

6. It will take place present-day, so there will be a time jump.

The show went off the air in 2008, so there will be about an eight-year gap! Who knows what the characters are doing now? (Also rumor has it that Alexis Bledel is pregnant… potential plot point?!)

7. All of Rory’s love interests will make appearances

According to TV Line, Logan (Matt Czuchry), Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) and Dean (Jared Padalecki) will appear in the revival to some extent.

8. It will be amazing.
