November is National Healthy Skin Month! So why don’t we celebrate that initiative by taking a look at a few of the most empowering stories of female-run beauty & skincare brands on the market?

Tarte Cosmetics

Tarte, with its cult-favorite clay eyeshadow palettes & notorious H2O hydration line, is actually run by a fullly-female board — founder & CEO Maureen Kelly, CAO Heather Hemsley, CMO Candace Craig Bulishak, & head of product development Anna Sponaugle.

Beautyblender

Beautyblender was founded & is still owned by makeup artist Rea Ann Silva, now a staple in every girl’s makeup routine.

Glossier

One of the most famous beauty brands today, Glossier’s founder & CEO Emily Weiss disrupted the industry with her “cool girl” products, providing customers with quality makeup & skincare & employing only females in the company’s highest positions.

Tatcha

Vicky Tsai created her luxury skincare line Tatcha to solve her acute dermatitis, dedicating the brand’s mission to empowering women all over the world to continue to re-define what “beauty” means to them. Tsai also sends proceeds from every single purchase of Tatcha to Room to Read, a nonprofit that helps to fund girls’ education.

Ouai

Launched in 2015, Jen Atkin’s luxury haircare product line Ouai is easy to use & super effective. With aesthetically-pleasing packaging & affordability always kept in mind, Ouai should definitely be your next haircare purchase!

Anastasia Beverly Hills

Anastasia Soare has long been a force in the beauty industry, helping women to achieve the perfect brows since the 90’s. With a makeup line that has expanded over the years, Soare’s daughter Claudia now runs the company’s day-to-day operations as president — a family affair!
