Who is Girls Gotta Eat?
GGE is co-hosted by Ashley Hesseltine and Rayna Greenberg. They both had successful careers prior to podcasting, and even more so now with it. Ashely is a stand-up comedian based in New York City and founder of Instagram’s @brosbeingbasic and @fashiondads. Rayna Greenberg had been in the restaurant business for over 10 years, and is now running the foodie Instagram account @onehungryjew. These two single and fabulously successful women set out to spark some joy into other people’s lives, and share their truths, in hopes to help others.
Why should I listen to GGE?
Aside from being a comedy-based podcast, Ashley and Rayna treat the episodes like a no-filter diary entry. They are so real and genuine about their past and present experiences. They keep us up to date on their personal lives, dating or otherwise, and make you feel like you’re a part of their lives. Their openess really goes a long way, because they give you a sense of comfortability when talking about a lot of things society has taught us is “inappropriate”. Along with the wide range of topics for their episodes, they have an extensive list of guests on the show. From NFL athlete Dale Moss, to ex-con and entrepreneur Derek Drescher, Hinge CEO Justin McLeod, and a whole lot of hilarious comedians like Nikki Glaser, Jared Fried, Matteo Lane and many others!
GGE recently reached its 1 year anniversary, so there is a ton of content that reaches a large scope of topics and stories. Personally, some of my favorite episodes have been F**CK YOU CARRIE BRADSHAW, If I Could Turn Back Time, and Live Laugh (Long-Distance) Love.
