Christmas is just around the block and a lot of us are most likely already looking around for gifts, decorating our houses, and stocking up on our favorite seasonal snacks. Out of all of the holidays, Christmas has got to be my number one. It’s a time of love, giving, and appreciating each other’s presence. The warmth and coziness it brings to your stomach are unlike any other feeling. From the glimmering Christmas lights, hot chocolate, cozy pajamas, and movie nights- there’s an endless amount of things to look forward to for Christmas. Aside from being a great moment to spend with family, Christmas also opens up opportunities for sentimental and thoughtful date ideas for you and your significant other. Here are a couple of ideas I had in mind that you should give a try.

Christmas movie marathon

From “Home Alone“, “Elf“, “The Nightmare Before Christmas“, and “The Santa Clause“- there’s an endless amount of holiday movies you and your S/O can watch together. These Christmas movie classics would make for a great marathon that you can turn into a date. You and your partner can dress in your seasonal pajamas, decorate the room with lights or other decorations and curl up next to each other with a warm mug of hot cocoa. Nothing sounds cozier than that.

ice skating

Personally, I’m not the best ice skater. If you’re like me, this will be a good opportunity for an intimate moment between you and your partner. Holding hands under the dimmed lights and soft music will allow a chance for you and your significant other to laugh, have a good time, and enjoy each other’s company can be a memorable moment for you and your significant other to share together even if neither of you has experience in skating.

wrapping gifts together

Wrapping gifts may be a wearisome chore and not the funniest to get through for everyone. You can make it into a fun activity with your S/O. Blast your favorite tunes, lay some snacks on the side, and you’re all set! This is definitely a cost-friendly activity you can do with your partner and it makes it much easier to do with somebody else than alone.

put together a Christmas tree

Putting up different Christmas ornaments on your tree is another great activity you can do with your partner. You can even incorporate friends or family into this activity so it’s more interactive. There are many ornaments to choose from and deciding how you’d like to decorate it with your partner is a great bonding activity. From Christmas ball ornaments, multicolored lights, glittering snowflakes, and the final star at the tip of the tree- these are all different things you and your partner can decide on adding to your personalized Christmas tree.
