What to do in Miami on Halloween

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Halloween is just around the corner, and whether you’re dressing up or just looking to hangout with your friends, we’ve got you covered. Here are a few local events happening this Thursday and throughout the weekend.

  1. HalloWYN Block Party

On October 31st, The Wynwood Marketplace will be having its annual HalloWYN block party. It’s free and open to all ages. From 7pm-3am you can enjoy food trucks, DJs, costume contests, artsy vendors, and good vibes. No costume is too much. In Wynwood, you can let your creativity unleash. The costume contest begins at 8pm and first place takes home (or to the bar) $100 cash. Make sure to email info@swarminc.com to ensure entry into the contest! This year, Wynwood promises “[i]lluminated in red, the Dragon’s Den will showcase eye-catching LED activations, fire spinners, and a hauntingly intriguing marketplace… Rain or Shine. Naughty or Nice. Alive or Dead. Come one, come all.”

2. Halloween on Lincoln Road

If you’re looking for something a bit calmer, or to have a spooky dinner at one of your favorite Lincoln Road restaurants, this is the event for you. Open to all ages, Lincoln Road will be having its annual Halloween parade-like event. Expect all things “ghoulish, glamorous, and everything in between.” The fun begins as early as 5pm and runs to 1am. Tip: arrive as early as possible for you if you plan on parking in any of the garages.

3. Miami Lakes Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

If you haven’t picked out and carved pumpkins yet, it’s not too late! Miami Lakes Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch is open on Halloween, from 10am-9pm. Entrance is $3 per person. Children 12 years old and younger enter for free, with a paying adult. Whether you wear a costume or a cute Fall outfit, the pumpkin patch is perfect for a photo-op. Idea: trick-or-treat a bit after the pumpkin patch, or have a carving and spooky movies night!

4. Monster Bar Crawl in Brickell

If you’re 21+, this free roam bar crawl might be the choice for you. Tickets cost $15-$20 and costumes aren’t required but they sure are encouraged (what better way to stay on theme?!) a ticket gets you five free drinks, Halloween swag, and no cover at any of the participating bars.

The Bar Crawl starts at Blue Martini Brickell, from 7pm-9pm and deals end at midnight. All other participating venues are in walking distance:

Whatever you decide to do, whether you stay in or go out, have fun and be safe! If you’re stuck studying, don’t feel too bad, that’s still pretty scary! #ontheme #spookyseason
