This Is Us…oh my gosh. You know when you’re so in love with a show that it’s all you think about, you keep recommending it to your friends, you start relating the characters and story line with your everyday life and it literally leaves you speechless? This Is Us is one of those kinds of shows.
If you haven’t heard of This Is Us, you might quite literally be living under a rock, as it is trending all over social media and the news. The show and some of its actors were Emmy Award winners. The Emmy’s, people! It seems to be the “it” show at the moment that everyone can’t get enough of.
But, if you’ve managed to go this long without hearing about the show, to sum it up, it is about an American family where the mom and dad (Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia) are raising their three children (Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley and Sterling K. Brown), two of which are twins and the third an adoptive black child. The show goes back and forth between the parents raising their children at younger ages, to their teenage years, to where the three siblings are presently in their lives and each moment has led them to be the people they have become. Touching on heartbreak, addiction, abandonment, trials and errors and the struggles of losing someone you love, This Is Us pulls on your heartstrings like no other show I have ever encountered.
In under two weeks, I binge watched the entire first season and half of the second season, which is where the show currently is. I could not get enough of this amazing drama.
I may not relate to the characters and their struggles in particular, but the show makes you feel like you can relate to them and you’re constantly wanting the best for them in their lives.
This Is Us airs Tuesday nights at 9PM on NBC. But, if you want to catch up from the beginning, which you will not regret, you can watch from season 1 on Hulu. And, in case you didn’t know, if you have Spotify student you get Hulu with it for $4.99 a month. Add-free music and Hulu? I don’t think it gets any better.
I guarantee, adding This Is Us to the top of your binge watching list just might be one of the best decisions you have made in 2018 so far!
