In light of recent news about sexual harassment and sexual assault, the #Metoo movement has caused a phenomenon. There is a case in every field. From Hollywood to the battlegrounds of Washington DC. Everyone is sharing their story when it comes to the #Metoo movement. In the past week, there was a new industry that was hit with the #Metoo movement. Topshop is the new and latest victim of the movement and it has caused many of their beloved customers to start boycotting their stores.
Topshop was brought into the news when it was reported their chairman, Philip Green was accused of committing sexual harassment. The Telegraph, a British news outlet, was first to report these accusation. In the article, The Telegraph was doing a 8 month investigation on Philip Green. Philip Green was accused of sexual harassment and racial abuse towards his staffers. To make matters even worse, he would often buy their silence. In hopes, that it would never go public. Once news was out, many customers started boycotting Topshop. Customers of Topshop do not want to support a brand that has created such a hostile and dangerous environment.
