Top 10 Spooky Movies To Watch With Your Boo

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Spooky szn is officially upon us, meaning it’s time to get your annual Starbucks PSL and curl up to watch Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween!

Whether you’re following along or want to make your own spooky screening schedule, here are 10 must-watch horror flicks this Halloween season. Some old, some new, and some just plain fun.

So grab your boo and a pumpkin-flavored drink (or maybe popcorn?) and get streaming!

Top 10 Spooky Movies:

1. The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

A classic rewatch every year! This one will leave you feeling paranoid for hours.

2. The Shining (1980)

The concept of this movie is enough to scare even a skeptic adult…watch at your own risk!

3. Shutter Island (2010)

If you think you’re ready for this one, you’re definitely not.

4. Halloweentown (1998)

When you’re feeling lighthearted and want some laughs, this spooky choice is the one.

5. Corpse Bride (2005)

My personal favorite from the list! This movie is undeniably underrated and is very grown-up despite its animation.

6. Hocus Pocus (1993)

Nothing says “Halloween” better than a rewatch of Hocus Pocus with the Sanderson sisters!

7. The Haunted Mansion (2003)

An Eddie Murphy Halloween classic!

8. Get Out (2017)

A truly mind-bending story…with some grisly realistic themes.

9. Coraline (2009)

Scary even for adults. The Other Mother still gives me nightmares!

10. Psycho (1960)

An OG classic to end the season. Although dated, this scary flick definitely holds the test of time.
