Things To Do In Miami This Weekend

It’s finally the weekend! Which means at some point between the piles of homework and trying to catch up on lost sleep, plans will be made to do something fun. Here are a events going on in Miami this weekend to help get those plans rolling, as well as add a nice touch to your instagram feed! 

12th Annual Chocolate Festival at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden ($25 Admission) 

Every year Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden hosts their Chocolate Festival, and its happening this weekend! This festival is fun for everyone from the age of three to ninety-three. All chocolate lovers and plant lovers will be able to find something fun to do and eat at this event. It is open January 19th through to the 21st. The itinerary boasts of lectures on chocolate and how cooking affects flavor, cooking demonstrations, tastings and more. This event is fun for the whole family and sure to be something different to do with your weekend.

Dessert Wars Miami at FIU’s Ocean Bank Convocation Center ($20-$35 Admission)

Dessert Wars Miami, one of the largest dessert festival in America is happening this Saturday, January 20th at 5:00 PM on our very own campus. Over 50 vendors are attending, giving you over 45,000 desserts to choose from! The tickets include tastings and samplings from your vendors of choice, a to-go box in case you want some sweets for later, coffee and milk, as well as tickets to the FIU basketball game at 7:00 PM.

Miami Flea (Free Admission) 

Looking for something a little more trendy but still good on your taste buds? Look no further! Every second Sunday of the month, the Miami flea is held in the Arts and Entertainment District in downtown. From yummy popsicles to cute earrings there’s lots to take in. Music, drinks, clothes and food, what more could you ask for? If you’ve already been, no worries, there’s new vendors every month.

Fine Arts Fest at Pinecrest Gardens (Free Admission) 

If chocolate and flea markets aren’t calling your attention, make your way to the beautiful Pinecrest Gardens for art within the paths! Admission is free, art is for sale, food is aplenty! This festival takes place January 20th and 21st. Family and budget friendly it’s definitely worth a visit.
