Taking Advantage of Your Commute

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Whether it’s early mornings or late nights, music has been one thing I’ve found myself loving to jam to more and more during my car rides to and from work and school. If you don’t have a Spotify or Apple account, I recommend you get one ASAP! Especially if you’re a commuter to and from school. Traffic can be a hassle and music always makes that hectic drive 10x’s easier! I never thought specific songs from a variety of artists would uplift and change my mood as quickly as it has recently- but it has. And if it has for me– it can definitely do the same for you!

I think that if you can find your niche and find that playlist of songs you find the most joy in, you are off to a great drive. I find that creating certain playlist for certain moods is the best way to do it. For example, I have a “Relaxing” playlist for when I just need some John Mayer to ease my stress, and I have a “Feeling Good” playlist with Drake when I’m ready to have a mini dance session in my car because life is good. Once you have different playlist made for yourself, it makes it much quicker and easier for you to choose and listen to the perfect song to suit your mood.

Music has a lot of good to it, don’t waste your drives listening to the same old boring 100.7 station with the same music they play continuously. Make your music about YOU and what brings YOU the most happiness. There are artists out there who made music just for you!
