Rihanna’s New York Fashion Week Savage x Fenty show created a lot of buzz last week celebrating women of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities. It was also a surprise to see not only one, but two pregnant models make an appearance!
Women now more than ever have taken advantage of using many platforms to spread social freedom and awareness for other women. The Savage x Fenty show did just that by creating an all inclusive atmosphere on and off the runway. Models Slick Woods and Janina Thompson fiercely owned the stage making a powerful statement towards beauty and strength in motherhood. Breaking all social expectations, this show was one of NYFW’s most moving productions and a deep celebration of women.
From it’s diverse casting to the cautious preparation, RiRi went through great lengths to ensure her model’s wellbeing. Not even an hour after the show, Woods was examined by on site paramedics and immediately rushed to the waiting ambulance.
Owning her womanhood on stage, 22-year-old model Slick Woods was actually in labor while walking the lingerie show. She was rushed to the hospital to give birth to her baby boy, Saphir.
She worked black pasties and a strappy, leotard showing off that baby bump. She strutted and totally stole the show while being nine-months pregnant!
