Good news Panthers! You won’t have to wait until 2016 to get to vote for a president! Yes, you heard right. You have the opportunity to have your voice heard by voting in FIU’s very own SGA elections. Candidates are running for President, Vice President, and various Senator positions under three different parties, FIUNITE, FIYOU, and the Whisker Party.

Don’t know much about whose running? No worries, you’ll be able to meet the candidates on Monday, March 23rd at 4pm in the GC pit. This event will be followed by a debate on Tuesday, March 24th at 6:30pm in RDB 120.

Elections will be held on March 31st from 9am-7pm at MMC and 12pm-6pm at the Engineering Campus. Voting will also be open on April 1st at MMC from 9am-7pm. Then on Thursday, April 2nd at 12pm in the GC pit, panthers will roar when they announce who will be representing them next year.

Here’s a brief look into each party:

FIUNITE: As FIU’s first political party, established in 2012, FIUNITE is committed to student-focused policy, accountability and equal opportunity for all Panthers to thrive.

Whisker Party:  The Whisker party is dedicated to maintaining SGA accountable and keeping students in regard at all times.

FIYOU: As the name states, these candidates are focused on creating a bigger, better and best F-I-YOU.

How will you vote this upcoming election?
