The Newest Festival of the Year: Miami Beach Pop Festival

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Ultra, Coachealla and Lollapalooza, move aside, there’s a new festival in town. The Miami Beach Pop Festival is the newest 3-day festival that will display various artists from a range of different genres.

Miami is best known for its diversity, cuisine, and unique nightlife. The creators of the festival hope to celebrate these “flavors of Miami” and all that the city has to offer through this 3 day experience.

Miami is a city that’s deep-rooted in the music culture. It has become an essential part of the daily lives of the city’s residents and those who come to visit. From local musicians performing in small hole in the wall coffee shops to major commercial mainstream artist selling out the AAA, the Miami music scene is on full throttle and doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. The city has given birth to various well known artists such as Gloria Estefan, Pitbull, Jason Derulo and Sean Kingston.

The festival will be taking place beachside from November 8th-10th. Among the different artists, some of the headliners include Chance the Rapper, Daddy Yankee, Jack Johnson, Kygo, Natti Natasha and Juanes.

Pre-sale general admission tickets for the three days are on sale until August 30th for $199. For those concert goers that want to just buy a one day pass, tickets are currently going for $97.99. If you’re seeking for an experience of a lifetime there are two VIP tickets and Platinum tickets that include admission to the entire festival, access to VIP viewing, lounge areas and much more.

The price is definitely worth it for the caliber of the artists that are expected to perform. Miami Beach Pop is also going to be showcasing an all-star celebration of Bob Marley featuring Stephen Marley, a sol jam out session with Nile Rodgers, and a performance from the Frost School of Music AME.
