Natalie Diaz is a junior at FIU studying Communication Arts with a minor in Fine Art Production. Although she seems like any other student at FIU with her jeans, sunglasses and sandals she’s a lot more than that! She is a very active member of the FIU student body. One of her main passions is to help United State’s veterans.  Can you guess who she is?! She is Miss FIU 2013, our very own on campus royalty, making her this week’s Campus Celeb! In the following interview you’ll get to see there’s a lot more to Natalie behind the crown and sash!
- What has been your favorite part of being Miss FIU 2013?
My favorite part would have to be that it has given me the opportunity to get more involved at FIU. Since I was a transfer student getting to know FIU and other students was a challenge for me and by being Miss FIU, it has taught me a lot about both campuses and what FIU has to offer. I’ve also had the privilege of getting to meet so many new and interesting people!
- If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would it be?
Definitely Giuliana Rancic! I think it’s amazing how although she is a very successful businesswoman, she still puts her family first. I hope to be like her one day!
- How did it feel to compete in the Miss Florida Pageant?
It was truly an honor! I got to meet so many successful women that were my age. It was great to be surrounded by women who had accomplished so much at such a young age. It was inspiring!
- If you could jump on a plane right now and go anywhere, where would you go?
Europe. I want to see all the beautiful and historical art and buildings. Hopefully it’ll be my graduation present!
- If you could travel through time, where would you go?
I’d go to the roaring twenties! I love how everyone was so elegant… and the flapper dresses are too cute!
- What is your dream job?
Ever since I was in middle school I’ve wanted to work for Vogue Magazine!
