As we get older the importance of a good skin care routine becomes a need. There are many benefits to a good routine and it can help our skin in different ways.

Skin care is important for the following reasons:

  • It helps our skin stay in good condition: Throughout the day our skin goes through different phases, so it is important to keep our skin glowing. Building a habit of good routines can help prevent acne, treat wrinkles, and help our skin to look the best.
  • Our skin will look more youthful: As we age, our skin appears duller and less radiant. Using quality products can help remove dead skin cells, so our body can replace them with newer ones. When our body replaces the dead skin cells with newer ones, it helps our skin look younger.
  • Helps prevent skin problems: Many of us have had skin problems in the past and definitely having a good skin care routine has improved them for the better.
  • It boosts our self-confidence: When our skin is glowing, we feel like we own the world and feeling confident in our own skin is gratifying.

Including the following components in our everyday lives can create an effective skin care routine:

  • Cleanser: Knowing our skin type is important to find a great cleanser. If we have dry skin, we’ll want a cleanser that doesn’t have alcohol, and if we have oily skin, looking for an oil-free cleanser will be the best.
  • Moisturizer: We most moisturize everyday day no matter our skin type. This is important to do it after washing our face.
  • Sunscreen: We all need sunscreen even if our moisturizer has some. Choose one that provides broad-spectrum protection and a good SPF of at least 30

  • Serum: They can help with specific issues, such as redness.
  • Exfoliator: This can be used after a cleanser. It is optional and it should only be used a maximum of once or twice a week.
