With Hurricane Irma placing the entire state on pause, it may seem like your semester took a whammy. Feelings of anxiousness about getting back in the groove of your daily grind and completely re-marking your agenda for assignments sounds like a pain. But, I can tell you that it wonât be nearly as bad as you may think. Hereâs 4 ways to settle back into your school grind the first week back:
- Make Use of Your Agenda
You never know how useful this book can be until you make good use out of it. Whether that means bringing out every color pen and making it pretty or flooding your pages with arrows pointing in a multitude of directions, do it. Your agenda has to be your BFF this semester. It keeps you organized, grounded, and reminds you of assignments that slipped your mind over these past two weeks. It wonât let you downâŠitâs all in the paper.
Â
2. Do The âDay Beforeâ RuleâŠFor Everything
Clothes-wise, coffee-wise, lunch-wise, prepare it all the day before. Even something as small as setting up your outfit for tomorrow in a specific place for you to find in the morning, or triple checking that the coffee maker is working, it makes a tremendous difference. This is your time to double check that all supplies and items are in order and ready to go the next day. It saves you time, and could be the grand difference between being 5 minutes late to work or not.
Â
3. Shift Your Focus, Itâs All You Girlfran!
Itâs easy to distract yourself by social media posts of successful people that seem to have their life more together than you. ButâŠwho said it didnât cost some huge sacrifice and tons of hard work? You are in a different place than the person youâre obsessing to be like in life. Keep the camera on you and on your own aspirations and goals. When you stop worrying about other peopleâs milestones, you start to get closer to your own. This semester is yours.
Â
4. Promise Yourself
Promise yourself to wake up driven. Itâs easy to lose motivation once you get comfortable and so adapted to your normal daily schedule. So, wake yourself up! Write down your goals for that week or month on a post-it note and keep it on your night stand so every day you get dressed for the day, you have that bold reminder of where youâre headed. It starts with the attitude we have and our drive to reach those goals. Be your biggest fan and go get âem!

Happy first week back, you got this girl!
