It seems that the latest trend in the beauty industry is all-natural everything, but with thousands of natural products hitting the market it can be tough to figure out the best ones to use. In trying to switch to an all-natural hair care routine, I have tested dozens of products.

Here’s a list of my all-time favorite natural hair care items:

1. Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner

My search for clean hair care started when I realized that the harsh sulfates and parabens most commercial shampoo manufacturers include in their products was making my overly thin hair even thinner. If you struggle with thin hair you know how hard it can be to find a shampoo that volumizes without leaving your hair oily and flat. It turns out that the sulfates in most shampoos actually dry out your scalp, causing oil to produce faster in order to combat the dry scalp and in turn leave your hair flat and weighed down. Sulfates also cause a lot of hair loss. Briogeo’s Blossom & Bloom shampoo is vegan and cruelty-free, with no harsh silicones, sulfates, parabens or artificial dyes. Unlike a lot of the sulfate-free shampoos on the market, this one actually lathers, leaving your hair feeling clean and refreshed after every wash.

For my girls who don’t struggle with thin hair, Briogeo’s Superfood Be Gentle, Be Kind set and their Don’t Despair, Repair shampoo and conditioners are also top hits!

2. Acure Curiously Clarifying Shampoo & Conditioner

Acure’s Lemongrass and Argan Oil clarifying shampoo and conditioner does the same job as their high-end competitors for half the price. At only $10, Acure’s Clarifying shampoo & conditioner washes away buildup and is gentle enough for everyday cleansing. Their formula is sulfate free, cruelty-free and doesn’t contain any parabens, minerals or silicones. It’s perfect for any hair type including color-treated hair! I use this product once a week to get of rid any buildup and oils and reset my hair.

3. Biosilk Silk Therapy

Since my thin hair tends to get greasy pretty quick, I usually shy away from any type of oils, but Biosilk’s Silk Therapy is a definite must for any girl’s hair routine. My hair has never been healthier than when I started to use this product. Biosilk leaves my hair shiny, super smooth, and protects it from getting damaged. It doesn’t weigh my hair down and their formula is made from natural pure silk. While it can be a little pricy, the smallest amount really does go a long way with this product.

4. Briogeo Scalp Revival

The Briogeo Scalp Revival charcoal + tea tree oil scalp treatment is perfect for anyone who’s experienced a dry, flakey or itchy scalp. A few drops of Briogeo’s Scalp Revival after a wash and it will leave your scalp hydrated and free from buildup. It also doesn’t leave hair greasy, which is a major plus, since most products do.

5. Acure Dry Shampoo

My must-have product in my hair care arsenal is a good dry shampoo and while brands like Batiste, Living Proof or even Tresemme, do a good job at absorbing oils from a dirty scalp, their ingredients will make you think twice in repurchasing. Most aerosol dry shampoos contain harsh ingredients like butane, isobutane and propane. For years I was a die-hard Batiste fan. I used it every other day to give my hair life and save it from more washes. I discovered that a lot of Batiste lovers have actually experienced hair loss and balding. I decided to give my hair a break from aerosol sprays and try Acure’s natural dry shampoo powder — it absorbs oil quick and I never have to worry about using propane on my hair ever again.
