PINK FIU Girl Power Event Florida International University’s very own, PINK Campus Reps, will be hosting its first ever Girl Power Event. The purpose of this event is “to celebrate girl power through body empowerment, inspirational/ motivational talks, and sisterhood,” said an FIU Rep.
The GRL PWR event will take place at the Modesto Maidique Campus Wellness & Recreation Center, by the north side indoor basketball court on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, from 3 pm – 5 pm.
The 2-hour event will include panelist influencers such as Jessica Rodriguez, from Despierta America to local “girl bosses from Miami, ” like Sabrina Rosell, from FIU’s Student Government Association- MMC and many more! With each panelist host having a total of 30 minutes talking, discussing, and even giving a little taste of what their business is about.
The pink-tastic event will also include, informational booths, a fun hands-on DIY Bead Bracelet activity, Instagram worthy decorations, food, and drinks available to all attendees! There will also be FREE giveaways at the event provided by PINK, who will be giving out a ‘GRL PWR Kit’ to the first 150 students who arrive!
HerCampus, a collegiate online magazine, will also be tabling the event. There will be a signup station for HC newsletters, informational flyers, and a giveaway!
Michelle, an FIU Campus Rep, also recommends all girl attending the event come in “athletic workout attire that follows the gym dress code.” As there will be an active portion in the event lead by Slay & Squats requiring you to physically workout. Michelle would also like to add that the event is, “exclusive to FIU students, but if non-students want to come, I believe admissions into the gym is $10.”
This will be a fun, hands-on, empowering event that PINK FIU will be hosting this semester! Don’t be afraid to come out and be apart of the FIU Panther Sisterhood.
