Planning a trip takes a meticulous amount of time to figure out what items to take, if the luggage is within the weight limit, and what the weather would be.

The benefit of being a college student is having the studying abroad option, which removes all the stress that comes along with planning a trip. But that stress and headache of planning a trip shouldn’t weight down any trip destinations.(©Giphy)

Before the semester ends, every college student should travel at least once. Mainly because as deadlines and classes get closer to the end of the semester, college students begin to go on a downhill slope and forget to prioritize their mental health.

The trip doesn’t have to be an expensive one. It could be a two day trip around your area and acting like a tourist for those days.

Dress up in the typical Ace Ventura/tourist attire, grab some friends, and just let all of that class, family, work, or friend stress you have on your shoulders be released.

Another option would be looking into what your college has to offer besides studying abroad. Some colleges, like FIU, have other clubs and organizations that take service trips. Look into that.

FIU has Alternative Breaks, also known as AB, and the participants go locally, out of state, and sometimes out of the country during winter, summer, and spring break to do a specific service.

Note: Registration for AB starts every Fall semester, but email them to see if they have any ‘express’ trips happening.

There is also Academy of Leaders or AOL, and not only will you be gaining leadership abilities, but you’ll have a two-day retreat at a cabin in Fort Myers with LEAD Team.
