My favorite time is finally among us all, Fall! That means that Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are a whole lot closer now. Plus, there’s always holiday events happening with family and friends, in-store specials, pumpkin spices are back (hip hip hooray!) and many more Fall favorites. Although I wish in Miami we could see those nice leaves fall on the ground and take those cool aesthetic pictures, it still feels like Fall and I couldn’t be more excited. There’s things I love to do and buy during this time of year, because it just feels right. They really get me in the mood and help me enjoy the season a whole lot more. Starting off…

Buying a pumpkin spiced latte!

Practical, right? Everyone’s number one thing to cross off their imaginary ‘fall to-do list’ has to be buying a pumpkin spiced latte. Whether it’s cold or hot, you just got to get one. I like to get it cold because, Miami doesn’t really get cold until January so I don’t want to feel extra hot while drinking a latte. When it gets a little chilly, then that’s when I will be purchasing a hot beverage! Pumpkin anything has my heart. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin-scented candles, pumpkin everything.

Baking yummy pastries

Baking in general is something that I enjoy to do. It relaxes me and in the end, you having something delicious to eat. I do it mostly throughout this season because I get inspired by looking at food on the web, food magazines and the food channel. My favorite things to bake are chocolate chip cookies, brownies, cake, cupcakes, pumpkin pies and pretty much anything new I want to bake! Whatever it might be, it will be served with some ice cream on the side. My family loves it. The smell of something baking makes the house smell so great and they get to enjoy a yummy, warm baked dessert! I get a super sweet tooth around this time.

Homecoming on campus

Homecoming week is one of my favorite weeks at FIU. There’s a week full of different events such as pageants, the big game, a fun parade and so many more events. It’s a great time to hang out with friends and really show some panther spirit! It’s an experience every panther should go through at their time at FIU. It makes students appreciate the school so much more and it’s also an amazing way to get involved on campus. I was able to walk in the parade last year and it was such a great experience. Make sure to look into homecoming week and everything it has to offer.

Pumpkin carving

Pumpkin carving is so fun and a way to bond with family and friends. Carving pumpkins doesn’t happen throughout the year so the best time to do so is now. There are a lot of different carving designs that you can do and look up on YouTube. To keep it entertaining, have a little carving competition with friends and see who does the coolest one. You can also pick up your pumpkin at a farmer’s market or make a day of it and go to a pumpkin patch.

Holiday gatherings

This has to be my favorite part about this season. Spending quality time with loved ones is the best part! Gatherings like Halloween and Thanksgiving is something I look forward to every year. There’s so much food, that it’s impossible to hate this time of year. I wish there were holidays every month because of all the happiness they bring and the relaxed ambience. Go ahead and start making holiday plans, your friends will love it. The holidays are so much better with company.

Overall, Fall is just amazing and everyone should enjoy it to the fullest. Find your Fall favorites and make some memories out of them. It’s a great way to enjoy the season and get you excited for the holidays. There are so many things to do throughout this time. Make plans with friends, have a friends-giving, carve a pumpkin, bake a pie, and get creative.

Happy Fall everyone!
