What was your first involvement in FIU?
My first involvement was Fall 2013 transfer student orientation. This orientation showed me the tools and resources offered by FIU. It also helped me realize that my time here should matter.
What is it like working with UNICEF.
My involvement with UNICEF has transformed me into a proactive global citizen. As advocacy chair I help empower our student community to support UNICEF missions. I also advocate for the protection of children’s rights so that they can meet their basic needs and expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.
How do you think we can promote peace at FIU?
We can promote peace in FIU by realizing our individual participation in our society. Each person’s actions create a larger ripple effect. If we each change our attitudes or actions we can all promote peace individually.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future consist of getting my masters in Public Policy and Human Development and then hopefully working in the UN, creating and innovating policies that promote community based programs of development.
What has been your best experience at FIU?
My best experience was the opportunity to study abroad in Italy for summer 2014. It has been the coolest thing I have done to date. I believe that we should have the opportunity to expand our horizons and perspectives about the knowledge we think we have.
If you could choose a celebrity to play you in a movie who would you choose and why?
Zooey Deschanel. She is quirky and laid back. Like her, I always see the positive out of the bad.
