The Christmas saying of “there’s no place like home for the holidays” rings especially true this year. With the coronavirus pandemic still lingering on the horizon, many families have opted to celebrate individually as opposed to gathering in large traditional groups.

The holidays can feel heavy if you’re not able to get into the spirit of things, and even more so when you can’t spend time with the people you love. However, if you find yourself in this situation alone or with your family, have no fear!

From baking and cocktails to karaoke and ornaments, here are 6 fun ways to keep busy during this festive holiday season and stay safe social distancing:

1. Decorate Christmas cookies

The possibilities here are endless! From gingerbread men to snowflakes, baking Christmas cookies are sure to bring everyone together!

2. Mix a cozy cocktail

Holiday Sangria, anyone? Festive winter cocktails are one of the most enjoyable ways to make sure everyone is feeling the Christmas spirit.

3. Make DIY Christmas masks

A fun spin on our unprecedented times! DIY Christmas cloth masks are not that hard to do and mainly just require a piece of festive fabric and elastics.

4. Craft a holiday ornament

One of the most surefire ways to make this Christmas memorable is by crafting a special holiday ornament. All you need are flour, salt, water, and a cookie-cutter.

5. Watch all the Christmas movies

From “A Christmas Story” to “Elf,” the holiday classics are officially in full swing and on every channel. So whip up some hot chocolate and get under the covers!

6. Have Christmas karaoke night

Bust out those incredible vocals and have a Christmas karaoke night! From “Jingle Bells” to Mariah Carey’s infamous “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” there’s nothing that’ll guarantee a better laugh.
