The 5 Best Add-Ons For Galentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

No valentine? No problem! February 13th is Galentine’s Day, and it’s all about you and your ladies.

So ditch the date night and buy yourself some flowers, because this day is all about celebrating yourself as well as your closest girlfriends

There’s no right or wrong way to celebrate Galentine’s Day, but I personally love to make anything and everything a big occasion. And what could be more memorable than a day to celebrate femininity and platonic love?

So whether you’re planning to make it significant or something way more low-key, here are the 5 best add-ons to include in any Galentine’s Day celebration.

1. Candy Charcuterie Board

A truly ingenious idea and something sure to make your Galentine’s Day pop! A candy charcuterie board is a perfect snack for your ladies to munch on while watching all the rom-coms. For inspo, look here.

2. Galentine’s Photoshoot

A themed shoot is always a good idea! Just pick some cute matching outfits (these robes are beautiful!) and champagne, and have your besties snap some chic and glamorous pics of you! For inspo, look here.

3. Watch Non-Cheesy Rom-Coms

Rom-coms are a must on Galentine’s Day, but no one ever said they would have to be sappy! Have you seen Matthew McConaughey in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past? You’re welcome.

4. Name A Cockroach After Your Ex

Arguably, this is the best choice on the list! The San Diego Zoo invites you to symbolically name a cockroach after your ex for only $5. The “Cry Me A Cockroach” event is definitely a deal I can get behind.

5. DIY Cocktails

Nothing’s better than mixing up crazy drink combos with your best friends. So whether it’s *one* shot of vodka or more, remember to assign a designated driver or plan to make it a sleepover event! For inspo, look here.
